HDSA Research Cycle

HDSA funds both basic and clinical research. But what does this mean?
What types of research are classified as basic and what what are clinical?

In order to illustrate the different types of research HDSA funds, five general areas have been noted. HDSA researchers or scientists whose work falls into each area are noted below. Arrows demonstrate the correlation and interaction between the different areas. As the HDSA Coalition for the Cure and HDSA Grant Fellowship recipients learn more about the dynamics of HD, HDSA will dedicate more funding to those specific areas that show the most promise.

Bold denotes member of HDSA Coalition for the cure
No asterisk denotes HDSA Grant recipient
* denotes HDSA Fellowship recipient
** denotes HDSA Grant Initiative recipient
